Diuretics: You can use hydrochlorthiazide (hctz (hydrochlorothiazide)) if your kidney function is good enough. Ptatients with glomerular filtration rates of 50 ml/ min or less need loop diuretics, furosemide, to effect a diuresis, as hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) will not work well. See your doctor for further clarification.
