Why melatonin?: There is no way that melatonin will help prevent or control true cluster headaches, and if indeed you really had this, you would be very unique, as it is more often a burden of middle-aged males who are usually quite intense. However, you might have migraine, and sleep does help relieve episodes. Discuss with your doctor.

Nights in a cluster: Melatonin is used during the evenings to enhance a normal sleep pattern. It is used once a cluster has started. Unfortunately, it is not effective in between clusters. It does not prevent a cluster from starting.
