Stressed?: Dear wallaby, there are many possible reasons for memory problems. Stress, anxiety, disinterest, alcohol, lack of sleep, being over-extended, - other things on your mind, etc. Try to figure out if something in particular is contributing. If so- work to change that. Take care.

Get blood work done: If your labs are normal and you are not taking drugs or alcohol you should consider an eeg to determine if there is abnormal activity. It is not normal to have memory loss at your age unless you have had a head energy, use drugs or alcohol, have a medical condition that affects memory, have been severely depressed or do not sleep well.

Look for cause!: You definitely need to get this checked out as there are so many possible secondary causes for memory loss at this age such as B12 deficiency, thyroid problems, some infections etc. Depression and anxiety may cause poor attention that looks like memory loss. A head ct or preferably MRI with/out eeg is needed. Your neurologist should be able to narrow down the differential with a proper assessment.
