Ideally, he should : Be evaluated by a child psychologist to assess his intellectual ability, awareness of phonemes (the smallest units of sound in a language) & other language skills, visual-perceptual skills, attention & memory. His pediatrician can screen vision, hearing & development. Ask his school to determine his eligibility for educational intervention. If he's not eligible now, seek private tutoring.
