Lovenox (enoxaparin): Pregnancy is a thrombogenic state and you have a higher risk for clots. Discuss with your doctor about being on lovenox (enoxaparin).

Blood thinners: Great question you are at risk and most would recommend anticoaulation, e.g. Lovenox (enoxaparin) for the term of the pregnancy. See a hematologist.

LMWH/UFH/filter.: Some type of blood thinner (unfractionated or low molecular weight heparin) or a mechanical filter in your inferior vena cava are indicated depending on other health problems you may have. Your maternal-fetal medicine specialist will decide what is best for you sometimes in coordination with a hematologist or a vascular surgeon.

LMWH: You have 2 existing risk factors for VTE recurrence: your history of thrombophilia, and your history of a previous DVT and PE,and pregnancy is a thrombogenic state. You should know how distant your previous VTE event was, and HOW SEVERE it was, in addition to whether you are heterozygous/homozygous for the FV Leiden mutation. Lovenox (enoxaparin) 40mg throughout pregnancy and 6 weeks post partum is std
