Probably so.: If you have a low gallbladder ejection fraction, i.e., under 35%, and you have symptoms, you will likely be advised to have the gallbladder removed. Your surgeon will likely tell you that once in a while, the pain won't go away in such a scenario. In a case like that, the pain was probably not gallbladder related. Good luck. Lgromkomd.

Most likely: If the hida scan is accurate and the results were 7%. You do have a dysfunctional gallbladder. If you are having symptoms like pain in your right upper abdomen, nausea, vomiting, possibly diarrhea, your surgeon will probably recommend a cholecystectomy.

Not absolutely..: ..Although, i would suggest you have it removed. If you want to avoid surgery, you might be able to get by on an extremely low fat diet. But, anytime you make a mistake or intentionally cheat on a low fat diet, you run the risk of more pain. Seek help from a board certified surgeon. Good luck.
