Surgery: If you have an abnormally low ejection fraction on a hida scan. And sludge in gallbladder on ultrasound then you will likely have repeated bouts of pain and inflammation in upper abdomen. Best course of action is to have gallbladder removed laparoscopically.

Surgery: If you have symptoms and have enough sludge in the gallbladder to cause an abnormal hida scan, the most likely scenario would be cholecystectomy.
