Maybe or maybe not: You should never stop brushing you teeth. The damage by not brushing may only be corrected by a dentist.

Not sure: Do you mean you were brushing all the time or just after eating? If just after eating fine they certainly will get lighter if you mean constant the no don't do that you can damage your teeth.

Time will tell: Start brushing your teeth again. You should brush your teeth at least twice daily. You may notice an improvement. If not, then you may have tartar, stains, and cavities that are darkening the appearance of your teeth. These things need to be treated by a dentist before you will see a difference.
