Discuss with doctor: Everything you should know about this procedure should be fully disclosed to you by the oral surgeon or dentist that is doing the procedure. He/she has the responsibility to help you understand all the ramifications of the procedure. Do not hesitate to discuss this with him/her.
Pericoronitis: I assume you are talking about pericorontitis, an inflammation of the gum surrounding the crown of a partially erupted wisdom tooth. An operculectomy, the cutting away of the inflamed gum, can relieve the pain, but often the gum flap will grow back. The removal of the tooth is 100% successful in curing the problem.

It depends: The cost depends on the geographic area where you live and also on the oral surgeon. Things are cheaper in general in southern states and more expensive in a state like new york. But even in the same town, different surgeons charges vary tremendously. In our town there is a difference of several hundred dollars between surgeons and the cheapest isn't the worst in my opinion. Get estimates.

Some teeth in the: Dental arch have issues with space or position and fail to erupt & remain impacted. When an orthodontist wants to bring a tooth into the arch they will work with an oral surgeon to expose the tooth & attach a bracket to bring it down. Comfortable sedation makes the process easy & pleasant. Quick peek at more details: http://www.Orasurgery.Com/services/orthodontic-bracket-and-chain.Php.
