Bilateral unusual: The fact that this has occurred in both hands is unusual and points to a systemic rather than a local problem. You may want to discuss this with your internist so that an evaluation and basic lab work can be completed.

Infection?: Could be an infection that is giving you synovitis. If you have any other signs of infection you should see your doctor.
