Hand swelling: This can be from numbness in the hand and may happen if you sleep over your bent hand, you should wear a wrist brace at night if this continues to happen.

Joints: Swelling that is subtle may be mainly inside the joints and not detectable externally. It may be a mild form of early arthritis. However, i would not panic. There are other causes possible. See your primary care physician or a rheumatologist.
