Procedures and Meds.: Diabetic neuropathy can be painful and disabling. Good diabetic control is key. However, if pain is persistent there are several medications that can be helpful: lyrica, (pregabalin) gabapentin, cymbalta. I would also recommend considering epidural steroid injections (esi) and a trial of spinal cord stimulation (scs).

Choices: A number of meds indicated if pain, tingling, discomfort, but these control only symptoms, and best approach is good diabetes control and you are already there. Basics, gabapentin, lyrica, cymbalta, savella (milnacipran). Work with a medical food metanx has shown less symptoms and improved nerve fibre density, but it takes 6-12 months, but only agent shown to do this.
