How long for pain to subside after hernis repsir and seromas?

Depends: Depends on the size and location of the hernia and type of repair. Inguinal hernia repair done open is typically 2-3 weeks, laparoscopic 1-2 weeks. Medium sized ventral hernia done open or lap is around 3-6 weeks. There are however many variables, so call your surgeon to find out for sure.

Pain management: Management of acute pain after surgery is an art, requires lots of communication with the surgical team. Acute pain management lasts 1 to 6 weeks and should have a trending to better pattern. Okay to call your doc. Seroma after surgery can increase pain. Get in sooner if there is redness, drainage or fever. Good luck.
