I have a 6mm syrinx noted on cervical mri at c6-c7. i have no previous major spinal trauma. should i be concerned? what should i do?

Rule out Tumor: Most of these are meaningless however it is important to rule out a tumor with a contrast enhanced MRI as well as a chiari malformation. Additionally, this may be imaged in the future to ensure it does not enlarge.

Syrinx : Any syrinx should be investigated specially larger than 3mm. You should have full MRI of brain, thoracic & lumbar spine to r/o any other etiology. You should definitely see a neurosurgeon.
