How bad can a person get when they have coccidiomycosis?

It can be deadly: Usually mild, in people with weak immune systems or sometimes in normal hosts, it can be a severe or even deadly disease.

Valley Fever: Valley Fever / Coccidioidomycosis is a fungal infection found in desert soil. There may be no sx's or mild sx's in 60% of infected people. Dx is via serologic tests for coccidioidomycosis or cultures. In it's disseminated form it can cause meningitis or pneumonia & be fatal.
