Needs to be checked : It depends on the size and color of this 'pimple' and also if it is painful or painless. Anything that is red or painful is more like due to an infection or inlammation(can be a virus infection). If it is painless then you should show it to your doctor unless it startes getting better within the next 7-10 days..

Tough one: It is difficult to say what this is without seeing the area. However, this could be anything from an infection to some type of salivary gland disease. You really need to see an oral surgeon to have this looked at asap.
