Trochanter Bursitis: Depending on your age and common in women, is a type of bursitis that affects the trochanteric bursa. This bursa sits just over the outside of your hip, about where you put your hand in your pocket. It is called trochanteric bursitis. It is often self limiting but can be treated with a steroid injection if it persists. See an orthopaedic surgeon.
