Can blacking out a lot as a teenager lead to dementia as an older adult?

Depends on the cause: The question you are actually posing is the trigger for the blacking out also a trigger for dementia. Obviously, this depends on the cause. Head trauma, especially when repetitive (think pro football player!), can cause concussions which have a cumulative effect. Dementia occurs more commonly in retired pro football players than the average population. Alcohol abuse may also pose concerns. See md.
