Easy rules: Eat less, especially avoiding stuff loaded with grease, salt, and/or sugar. Exercise more -- get with folks who exercise for fun doing something you enjoy also. Ignore everything you read about weight loss / supplements on the internet. Your physician can offer advice on calories, a sound book on diet, a visit with a dietician, or if applicable bariatric surgery if it's truly indicated.
