Probably not: Itching caused by narcotics is not uncommon. Treatment with antihistamines such as Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is usually not that effective. However some narcotics cause more histamine release than others, so switching to a different narcotic may work. The only somewhat effective medications to stop the itching are odansetron and naltrexone.

Many: Try to wean off the opiate, but benedryl or a mild benzodiazepine from your dr might help.
