Allergy?: You may be allergic to the hydrocodone. Call your doctor who prescribed the medication right away, or talk to your pharmacist.

Maybe an allergy: All opioids, of which hydrocodone is one, have itching as a known side effect. If you have itching without any rash or other symptoms, it may be just a side effect. If there is anything else happening as well, then an allergic reaction may be the culprit. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) can help some, but Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may create drowsiness. Contact your prescribing physician for advice.

Allergy: You have hydrocodone allergy, Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is not a solution, you need to change the medication. Your pharmacist or you can contact your physician to arrange the change.
