Depends on Type?: Most patients who undergo breast augmentation are able to return to a “desk job” 5 to 7 days subsequently. Those patients who have more physically demanding jobs require a longer period of time away from work. I ask my patients to avoid heavy lifting/strenuous activity for 4 weeks after the procedure. Driving should wait until patients are off of medications ; can respond to an emergency safely.

That varies: The answer depends on many factors, including the kind of work and your surgeon's post op routine. In my practice, most patients who do not perform manual labor or strenuous activity at work can resume work in 2-3 days. After about 2 weeks i allow light aerobic type exercise and after about 4 weeks full activity. Again every surgeon has their own routine and you should follow your surgeon's advise.

1-2 weeks: Most patients are able to return to work about 3 days after surgery. However, if you have a strenuous job, the knee will be on a 20 pound weight lifting limit for 2 weeks. Make sure you follow your doctor's instructions to avoid injuring the surgical site are causing bleeding due to strenuous activity.

Recovery for Surgery: Most patients can return to light activity the next day after surgery. I recommend that patients wait at least 48 hours before returning to a desk type job. If the job requires moderate physical activity, it is best to wait 4-5 days. Heavy activity might be an issue and you should discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

What type of work?: Desk work can resume a few days to a week after breast augmentation. Heavy or repetitive lifts may have to wait several weeks. Check with your plastic surgeon for details.

Recovery: The discomfort from breast augmentation is dependent on the size of the implant you desire. Larger implants...More discomfort...Longer recovery. On average, you should be able to get back to work within a few days (or even quicker with small implants). Six weeks before strenuous exercises. http://www.dassmd.com/breast-augmentation/index.html.
