Can av fistulas in the brain cause menstral problems in women?

Not usually. : Dural av fistulas should not cause menstrual problems directly. Knowing that one has a fistula may cause a feeling of anxiety and stress, which may indirectly affect the menstrual cycle. Also, there is some suggestion that hormonal problems could play a role in dural fistulas, which could suggest that the menstrual imbalance may have contributed to developing a fistula.
