Reflux: Most likely you are having something that used to be called "globus hystericus." the classic "lump in the throat feeling" we now know is often due to spasm of the upper throat muscle that is supposed to relax when you swallow. This muscle hates acid and stomach juice and if you are having reflux (even if no heartburn) it can cause this muscle to tighten. Stop all acids and try Zantac (ranitidine) . Then see md.

?allergy: You may have mild allergy to something in the air and that is causing irritation and increased mucus production.. You may watch and wait to see if it clear with change in season. Have a healthy diet, exercise, drink plenty of water, have safe sex, and get HPV vaccine. Wish you good health! Nutrition: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/.
