Not necessarily: Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes should be evaluated immediately. Don't just blame it on diabetes, see a doctor today, asap.

Diadetes: Hyperglycemia, high blood sugar in the last week can change your refraction; cornea edema from elevated eye pressure, cataract which has advanced. Diabetic macula edema, retina bleed, vitreous hemorrhage, optic nerve inflammation. You should see an ophthalmologist asap.
