Edema is caused by inflammation and leaking blood vessels. In diabetes, the better the blood glucose is controlled, the less inflammation and problems are seen. Blood glucose control is acheived by frequent testing, aggressive medication therapy and weight loss if overweight/obese. Talk to your Dr managing your Diabetes for additional information.
