Time off for beauty: Only your surgeon, who will know exactly what he or she is doing for you, will be able to answer that question accurately. Never go into a surgery with a deadline for looking healed. You will always miss it.

Returning to Work?: I ask my patients to stay away from “social situations” ( this may or may not include work) for approximately 2 weeks after facial surgery if they do not wish people to know about the procedure performed. Best wishes.

Two weeks but vary: In many instances this will depend on the extent of the lower facelift and adjunctive procedures such as liposuction or fat grafting or laser resurfacing/peels as well as one own's tendency for bruising and hairstyle to camouflage the cheek region. With truly minimal lower facelifts, some may return after 5-7 days whereas more extensive procedures may produce bruising for up to 3-4 weeks.

3 weeks: If you are having a neck lift as well, you may have bruising mostly in the neck. Neck bruise is stubborn and may be there for three to four weeks. The rest of the face usually does not bruise as much.

1-2 weeks: Two weeks is ideal if you can do it. The appearance depends mostly on how much you bruise, which is unpredictable. Stop all blood thinners 2 weeks before surgery, and take arnica montana to help diminish bruising. Also, follow your surgeon's directions to a tee.

2-3 weeks: Bruising is generally gone in 10-14 days, but there is still mild swelling and redness of the incisions. By te end of te third week, with a little makeup most people won't notice that you've had surgery (other than looking better!).

Depends: We try and be conservative in the office. We tell patients that they can sneak into the back row of church at three weeks. Everyone is different, and so the healing time will be different.

Facelift Recovery: 2-3 weeks should be sufficient for most patients to recover from a lower facelift prior to returning to work. You might consider taking arnica montanum and staying away from the many supplements that can cause excessive bruising with any surgery (e.g. Fish oil, flax seed, vit e, aspirin, ibuprofen, etc).

Facelift recovery: The amount of time you need to recover depends on what procedures you are undertaking. You can prepare for surgery by avoiding aspirin containing products and other medications and supplements which may cause thinning of the blood. Basically, the more bleeding you have, the more bruising you have, the more swelling you have. Your surgeon should be able to help you with perioperative instructions.
