Lots depression tx: Depression symptoms respond to: exercise/ behavioral activation, sleep hygiene, mindfulness activities, increased social support, lowered relationship conflicts, increased spiritual connections, developing meaningful purpose in life. Of course the evidence shows professional psychotherapy and meds to be particularly effective. Question is why avoid what is known to be effective?

Hard: Not to discourage you but get help. It's hard to deal with true depression on your own. You may not necessarily need drugs but sometimes counseling can help. Try to share your problems with family and friends. Meditation or yoga can help.
