Low back pain (LBP): Pain localized to the low back (lumbar spine) can be quite debilitating. Although the etiology of the pain can be multifactorial, the most common cause of lbp is a simple strain/sprain of the ligaments and/or tendons that support the spine. If the source is from an internal derangement of the disc (e.g., herniation), however, a formal evaluation from a spine specialist may be required.
