Not unexpected: There's no question only a few bits of information of your post calamity of having fallen on your back. Sounds like it smarts. If you are turning all sorts of colors and it's exquisitely tender you should either go to a doctor who can look at you or an ER to get some xrays. If you're not inclined to do either then, at least ice down a bit for a day or 2 if you haven't already then, apply heat.
