TB pleuritis: If you have pleuritis from tuberculosis then therapy is indicated. Pleural effusions can be dealt with by other means than needle aspiration, but those are clinical judgement decisions made by the treating doctor. The two subjects are different in many respects, although TB can cause pleural effusions.
