See a physician.: You probably have a cervical strain. You should consult your physician. Your symptoms are caused due to muscle spasm. Your physician can prescribe you some nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication and muscle relaxants and or physical therapy which will help to alleviate your pain.

Possible pinched ner: Sounds like you may have a pinched nerve in your neck that is causing pain and numbness in your arm. With that condition, looking up will often worsen the symptoms. Try a cervical pillow, heat, and non-steroidals. If not improving, see your physician. You may need neck x-rays or an mri. Most people improve with time but some need surgery.
