IV drugs & Spine: Iv drugs do not give you spine disease, however, compromised immunity can make you more prone to an infection that can settle in the disc(s) in your back. Diskitis is the infection of discs , possibly due to dirty needles and compromised health... Not usual after 13 years though. Find a good doc and have yourself evaluated for a possible degereative cause maybe. Thx!

There's no sayin: Injection drug use bypasses natural barriers and all manner of organisms that can infect us gain entry to the bloodstream where they can travel anywhere including the spine. I wouldn't expect you to have an active infection after 13 years but the damage done then could accelerate naturally occurring degenerative changes. But so could pitching for the Giants. Getting old sucks, deal with it
