I just had a total hysterectomy and experiencing depression does this mean my ovaries are not working?

You betcha: If you had a total hysterectomy - they took your ovaries too. So you are exactly right - they aren't working. They aren't even there! you probably need hormone replacement therapy, and soon!

Possible: Many women will have a lower mood when their estrogen level declines with menopause. A simple blood test can tell if your ovaries are still producing normal amounts of estrogen.
