Probably: People can sleep on an extremity and as a result compromise the nerve. Sometimes people think it is blood flow, but it generally is nerve related. Pressure on the plexus of nerves that exit your neck or even on the nerves throughout your arm can result in a painful extremity. Try altering your sleeping position and see if that helps. If not, get checked by a hand surgeon and have an emg.

Maybe: Arm positioning like sleeping with your arm over your head can lead to shoulder ompingemenr.
