Fracture : Usually a fracture in the midfoot where the navicular is requires a non-weight bearing cast to be worn for 6 weeks. It takes 6 weeks for fractured bone to heal. If your podiatrist sees on x-rays that the fracture is actually through the joint, surgery maybe the best option. But after surgery another cast may be necessary. Orthotics in the future may be a good idea to support the navicular.

Fracture: If you have a navicular fracture you need to be in a cast or walking boot for approximately 6 to 8 weeks.
