How is cast anxiety best dealt with? i have a displaced navicular fracture and am currently in a posterior short leg splint. i have no history of anxiety, but am having panic attacks because of the splint. i feel like i need to rip it off?

The anxiety that revolves around your cast can be managed by using deep breathing techniques. Breath in through your nose slowly to the count of 3; Hold your breath until the count of three; blow the air out like blowing through a straw. Do this until your anxiety reduces. After deep breathing, You can also imagine (in pictures) that the cast helps you heal by holding fragile bones in place.
