Allergies/parasite: Eosinophils are white blood cells (the part of the body's immune system which fight infection). Eosinophils are responsible for fighting off larger proteins such as parasites and is also seen with people fighting allergies. Eosinophil count being elevated is common and normally isn't asoociated with problems, which is probably why your doctor translated it as "normal".
