Sjogrens causes dry: Sjogrens is a systemic autoimmune connectvie tissue disease. Although it can have many serious problems the classic findings are dryness of mucous membranes such as the eye, mouth, nose, etc. There is an autoimmune attack of the moisture producing glands - like the salivary glands, the (lacrimal) eye glands and even the small glands that are part of the lining of the mucous mebranes.
