A member asked:

My iron saturation level is 62 percent. i do not take any supplements. my diet is good and normal. i have muscle pain and cramping all over my body. is this being caused by a disease or what could be causing the high iron saturation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I'd like to know results of a complete iron panel. An iron saturation of 65% is considered high. I assume you're not taking iron supplements. Is there a family history of hemochromatosis? Your symptoms could be from iron overload. There's a genetic test for hereditary hemochromatosis. I recommend consulting a hematologist for appropriate testing & advice.
