Yes: I agree with dr. Brouwer about wellbutrin (bupropion). There are also tricyclics such as Pamelor and desipramine, and maoi's as well. You would not usually be recommending medications to yourself, but i'm sure your psychiatrist would be happy to discuss options with you. Please don't rely exclusively on pharmaceuticals for all your results though. Therapy is extremely important in treatment effectiveness.

Try SNRI: Mdd can be treated with any medicine or combination of antidepression medications. Ssris only affect serotonin receptors. If you've tried several in that class, then you might try an snri (like cymbalta, pristiq, (desvenlafaxine) or effexor). Those affect both serotonin and norepinephrine receptors. Add-on therapy with wellbutrin is not a bad idea, nor is the addition of talk therapy to meds. Abilify is your trump.
