Yes,: This could be due to several things-it could be a clotted varicose vein (called superficial phlebitis), or a routine varicose vein, or a herniation or lymph node or even due to an injury. The best advice would be to see your physician.

More info: Hard to know. What is location? What does it feel like? Any discoloration? Do you have other vaticose veins?

Yes: There are any number of things it could be. Rather than guessing by email, i would certainly recommend that you have a physician take a look at it.

Lump: this may be a vein that has popped out, and I would recommend that this be evaluated to determine the nature of this problem. I would recommend seeking the advice of a vascular surgeon, and undergoing evaluation by a venous Doppler-sonogram. There are veins that communicate from the deep to superficial through fascial coverings with holes in them, and this may represent a herniation of the vein.

Yikes: Yes. More than likely it is a vein or muscle fiber herniation, but none the less, have it evaluated.
