Parenthood: Welcome to the world of parenthood. Each child is different and does not come with an instruction booklet. Good luck. We had two daughters one who was like this and the other totally different. The oldest was like this and has two children one like this and the other like her sister. We have survived this. God has a sense of humor.

Don't reinforce it: Most common reasons: 1). He falls asleep somewhere other than his own bed, 2) you make eye contact, talk to him hold him or let him in your bed when he night wakes 3) he still has a bedtime pacifier or bottle 4) sleep apnea, usually in overweight kids 5) separation anxiety disorder. If ignoring his night crying is not for you, there are graded ways to do so on aap.Org or its healthy child app.
