No: Your child may occasionally awaken at night. However, he or she should be routinely sleeping through the night. I would discuss with your doctor.

Are you reinforcing : The behavior by going into his room or allowing him in your bed? Tell him the new routine-a book, a good-night kiss , then you expect him to stay in his bed till am. When he wakes & cries, don't go in his room. If he comes out, walk him back in. Don't talk or make eye contact. Frequency & intensity of protest first increase, then extinguish if you consistently ignore them. See aap.Org for more tips.
