Laws differ: Commitment to a psychiatric facility differs in different states for eg; md requires two psychiatrist to agree for an impatient evaluation but her stay there depends on impression of the treating psychiatrist of institution.

Use the law: You have my sympathy. You'll have to convice a physician or two that she's dangerous to herself or others. If she actually is, a police call is in order.
