A member asked:

If a mh provider has a suspicion of fictious disorder by proxy involving mental health presentation in the child and the single mother makes it very hard to get a chance to talk to her child but one doesn't have certain proof, what can one do in nc?

The laws about and methods of reported child abuse in any form vary by state. If you know a pediatrician in your state, please contact them for guidance in the reporting rules and methods. Some require reports when there is a suspicion by licensed personnel and provide a no-fault legal protection & provide for anonymous reporting in the process. It is the role of CPS to investigate these claims.
