A member asked:

Is there anything i can do if a patients mother restricted contact to just herself? it could be that the patient is in a mental facility for long term and the idea of not being able to be there for her really hurts?

This is a legal issue not a medical one. If the patient is a minor and or if their mother is their power of attorney, she makes the decisions. You can choose to get a lawyer and petition a court for you access, but unless you can convince a judge to do so there is little more you can do.
