Have it looked at.: Bruising could be due to different reasons. A thorough history and physical exam and possibly some radiology exams may help to determine the right cause. Causes of bruising may include: trauma (fracture, sprains, arthritis), infection, metabolic conditions, biomechanical abnormality, blood clots, and puncture injuries. Treatment will depend on the cause.
