Plantar fasciitis: Plantar fasciitis occurs when the ligament across the arch of the foot becomes inflamed. This generally happens from poor foot mechanics and lack of shoe support. It usually responds to foot inserts and anti-inflammatories. A pinched nerve similar to carpal tunnel could also be to blame. See a podiatrist for a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.
