If fully staged: And biopsied, stage 1 does not have any reason for n+v. However, treatment usually follows with stage 1. How long has dad delayed treatment and how long since staging? Causes of n+v in lungca: liver mets, brain mets, chemotherapy, constipation from narcotics for pain. Time to re-check facts of stage, and revisit therapeutic options.

Why stage 4: There are a number of reasons that a lung cancer may be considered stage 4. The potential for disease progression and metastasis in the liver, lung or anywhere in the body could explain new nausea. Blood work and possible imaging may be needed to determine cause of nausea.
